[edit] Popcorn2008

Popcorn2008 (talk · contribs) – I am a forum moderator on Lucas Forums and would love to help out wikipedia in moderating the wikipedia and making it a fun place for all people who wish to add/edit and enjoy the information provided here. I am a really easy going kind of person and I believe I am the type of person that wikipedia needs for an admin. While I may be a newer member I believe I have what it takes to be an admin for wikipedia. It's my understanding that newer members and those who have very few edits and such rarely if ever become admins. I understand entirely and if you oppose due to that fact I understand. :) Popcorn2008 22:57, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Popcorn2008

- Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Wikipedia backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
- A: As an administrator I would love to go through the backlog and work on any article in which I am knowledgable and I would also be willing to go through request for protection, semi-protection, and unprotection and deletion requests to make wikipedia more enjoyable for all users.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A: Although I may not have created as many articles as some wikipedian veterans I am proud of the various contributions I have made to some articles. For example I helped to make a few articles look up to the standard of Wikipedia and be more enjoyable to read. I have also nominated articles that I feel need to be deleted as they are clogging wikipedia's space and are in violation of guidelines. But because noboddy has noticed these articles have not been able to clear the system. All in all I am most proud of editing articles to make them more acceptable to Wikipedia.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: So far one of my articles was requested for a deletion, and I took a calm approach and went to the nominees talk page and asked what guidelines they believed I hadnt reached and why my article was being requested for a deletion. Me and the nominee had a small conversation and I eventually came to a peaceful agreement with the nominee that my article did indeed need to be worked upon to meet standards of quality.

- Oppose; too new. Stick around, make lots of good edits, acquire a good reputation, come back after four or five months with several thousand edits. Don't take this wrong: welcome to Wikipedia, but adminship generally doesn't come until you've been here for a while. Antandrus (talk) 23:23, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
