[edit] Lommer

final (16/2/1) ending 23:15 27 April 2005 (UTC)

I have been a wikipedian for just under two years (since May '03) and have accumulated >2300 edits. I've only had the desire to become an admin since the main page and its templates were protected. I feel they don't get enough editing now and I frequently see something that can be reworded or adjusted but find I cannot change it. I am not the among the most active wikipedians by a long shot, probably because I enjoy reading the wik more than editing it and I generally hang around the less controversial areas. For some examples of what I consider my best work, please see my user page. -Lommer | talk 23:16, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Candidate please indicate acceptance of the nomination here
Kind of silly to accept a self-nom, but whatever. -Lommer | talk 23:24, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
LOL! You should have turned it down. SlimVirgin (talk) 02:21, Apr 21, 2005 (UTC)

  2. Didn't find anything to object. I hope you will also visit VfD, ViP, etc from time to time. Pavel Vozenilek 01:03, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  9. I'm not sure what Carnildo is talking about here, but from what I've seen, support. --Lst27 (talk) 22:24, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
When he nominated himself, he put his nomination at the bottom of the list, despite clear instructions to put it at the top of the list. --Carnildo 23:57, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  10. Support, casual sysops needed. --Bjarki 00:36, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  11. Main page/ITN editing is a good reason for granting adminship -- you don't need to be a VfD addict or have FAs under your belt, you just need to be trusted not to wreck the Main page (and not to indulge in deletion/protection/blocking wars). dab () 18:35, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  13. A look at the articles on his user page shows very nice work (props for writing an article on the Ford Nucleon!). No reason not to support. Isomorphic 02:59, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Oppose

  1. Does not meet my admin criterion, jguk 07:22, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Fair enough. I doubt I'll meet that criterion for quite a while, but I'll start looking for a single article that I'm interested enough in to do that. -Lommer | talk 00:43, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  2. Oppose. I would like to see another month or two of service. Kingturtle 17:44, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Would you mind clarifying that? With 23 months under my belt I've been around longer than other users you've supported (e.g. Trilobite or Worldtraveller). I don't mean to put you on the spot, I just would genuinely like to know what criteria I'm failing — how many edits do you look for? How long a duration of service? Is it some combination of the two? -Lommer | talk 20:01, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Neutral

  1. I dunno about supporting someone who demonstrates that they have trouble reading and following directions. --Carnildo 23:42, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Haha Oh man... First I have to get used to putting new entries at the bottom of talk pages, and then they switch it back on me. If I lose because of that I'll feel really stupid. :-) -Lommer | talk 00:49, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
A. Keeping up the main page. I also could see myself helping out with ifd and vandal patrol semi-regularly.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. Please see my user page for a list. I am generally proud of those articles because I've taken an important yet obscure subject with little or no coverage and written up a pretty good piece on it.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and will deal with it in the future?
A. I am pretty good at avoiding conflicts on wikipedia, and I've never had one that wasn't resolved with one post in which I explained my actions & reasoning and apologized for any angst I'd caused.
