[edit] King Óðinn The Aesir
FINAL (0/7/0); withdrawn per WP:SNOW by EVula at 23:26, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
King Óðinn The Aesir (talk · contribs) - King Odin (myself) is a honest, respectable and somewhat intelligent member of the wikipedia community. He has a psychological qualification and thus knows that harshness is not the way an administrator should act. He is anti-discrimination of all kinds and is anti-vandalism but fare (people who make mistakes without malicious intent should not be penalised). - Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here:
'I have nominated myself because I believe that I would make an acceptable moderator. I make mistakes; my request seems to be malformed. I think the administrators should actually help to fix their requests rather than just saying "the request was malformed".
[edit] Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I mainly intend to administrate the Germanic and psychological articles. I would like to make them a more progressive and friendly enviroment so that people may learn.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: My work in the Germanic articles are my best contributions because I have a keen interest in the articles and my contact with other editors is generally very civil. I try to resolve rather than cause fights.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Yes. I had a little trouble with a member on the Simple English wiki due to the fact that he went into a tantrum due to a difference of opinion. It is resolved now, I believe, and I have not been in any conflicts on this site, only debates. I believe that the case on that wiki should not interfere with my request as I certainly wasn't in the wrong (taking away an incorrect fact is not vandalism) and I actually reported the incident to the administrators of this site; again they showed weakness (in my opinion) by not contacting me. A lot of the administrators on this wiki treat adminiship as an exclusive club which is surely against the rules and something I oppose; I would rather be an admin who actually cares about the articles rather than power.

[edit] Oppose
- Oppose Too new, 2 malformed requests, as well as the issue at the SE Wikipedia. Prodego talk 20:56, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose I'm sorry, but I don't feel you have enough experience in order the grasp the concepts that admins need to be proficient. I would recommend that you also go into your preferences and click on editing, and check the box that says "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary". Admins (or all editors for the matter) are highly recommended to include edit summaries so one may easily see why they made their action(s). Icestorm815 (talk) 21:11, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose I'm sorry, but you are not ready. Your answer to question 1 suggests you do not understand adminship. Please read WP:ADMIN to better understand what admins do. Also, it usually requires thousands of edits to understand policy well enough for the community to trust one with adminship. This means lots of article building edits and many RfA participants prefer experience at XfD, reporting vandalism at WP:AIV, and experience tagging aricles for WP:CSD. Commuincation is very important, so please set your prefrences to require completing an edit summary before your edits save. Thanks, and happy editing. (Dlohcierekim at work) Cheers, :) MikeReichold 21:38, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, my. I had not read the answer to question 3. I fear you are not familiar enough with conflict resolution. Adminship is not a special club or an elitist organization. It is responsibility requiring knowledge of policy. It is at times stressful, and the responsibilites sometimes lead to conflict. How one deals with these stresses is very important. There are built conflict resolution processes that admins need to understand. <dlohcierekim> Cheers, :) MikeReichold 21:44, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose You don't really seem to have a need for the tools (question 1). --θnce θn this island Speak! 22:06, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose Sorry. Way too new and too little experience. --Folantin (talk) 22:11, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose Per all above. --Sharkface217 22:36, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose per above. Get experience and I will support you after March 2008. NHRHS2010 talk 23:24, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
