[edit] Information Center

Final (2/12/2) ended 06:45, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Information Center (talk · contribs) – This user wishes to spend his time here at Wikipedia, helping out to keep it a safe and vandal-free website for its users, and try to update it with all the latest information. Information Center 02:20, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here: I accept, with hope. I am an admin at my site, and I know the challenges that will face me.
If you look at the edit history you will see that Information Center has already withdrawn his candidacy, please stop piling on. Makemi 05:47, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Nominating Status: WITHDRAWN Delete this, it's over. I already lost, as you can see. It's intolerable to go on. Please delete this. I'll try again sometime later.

  2. Moral Support in advance of massive opposition. -- Jjjsixsix (t)/(c) @ 02:55, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  3. Moral Support I'm glad to see that you have shown initiative to nominate yourself, you may want to try again when you're more familiar with Wikipedia. --Y.Ichiro (会話|+|投稿記録|メール) 05:04, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Oppose

  1. Oppose - Is this a serious nomination? The user is adept enough with wikicode to fill his user page with userboxes after only 2 days. He makes a few mistakes in convention/style of editing (see his first ever edits). - Richardcavell 02:52, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  2. No way. User:Zoe|(talk) 03:11, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  3. Oppose - Far too soon. I suggest you retract your nomination as you are inviting an onslaught of Oppose votes. joturner 03:24, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  4. Oppose - Needs more experience. No Guru 03:25, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  5. Oppose - Too early. Nephron 03:42, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  6. Oppose - we need to see how well you fare here. Even administrators of other language Wikipedias can get turned down as admins here due to lack of experience. — Kimchi.sg | Talk 03:53, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  7. Oppose because there isn't enough history to assess. If he gives us the username he previously used we will be able to see his history, form a considered opinion, and maybe change votes to Support. Moriori 04:18, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  8. Strong Oppose too new. -- mmeinhart 04:41, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  9. Strongly Oppose for insufficient experience and zero use of edit summary--Jusjih 05:32, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  10. Oppose although I know you cannot be serious --Deville (Talk) 05:43, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  11. Oppose for obvious reasons. Please withdraw nom, but hold onto that anti-vandalism strategy. We could always use more people at WP:CVU. JHMM13 (T | C) 05:49, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  12. Strong Oppose per all above opposers. — xaosflux Talk 06:03, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Neutral

  1. Welcome! There's a lot you can do here at Wikipedia without being an admin. Check out Template:Opentask for some great places to start. Also, I suggest you withdraw this nomination until you realize the challenge, responsibility, and experience required to become one. Contribute for a few months and you may be an awesome candidate! --ZsinjTalk 02:40, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  2. Neutral - Sorry, but two days is certainly not enough time to judge a user as an admin :P Please don't get discouraged by the votes you get in this RFA, if you reapply after editing for 4-5 months, would consider support vote. --lightdarkness (talk) 02:38, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Comments

  • Edit summary usage: 0% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. Based on the last 4 major and 0 minor edits in the article namespace. Mathbot 02:30, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
  • See Information Center's edit count and contribution tree with Interiot's tool.
  • Comment a Beaurocrat should withdraw this nom, user has only been here since yesterday, almost all edits are to userpage. Information Center, wait a few months, be a good user, and then apply for adminship. Makemi 02:40, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate

Answer to Richardcavell's question: Yes, this is a serious nomination. Information Center 02:57, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Answer to Deville's comment: I AM SERIOUS, OK?

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Wikipedia backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
A. Helping edit information, helping members, deleting vandalism, and keeping Wikipedia a safe and vandal-free web encyclopedia.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. I am pleased with editing all the video game articles, because I've played and experienced them before, so I have a great idea of their plot and information.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A. I once had stress with a member. The cause of this is because I edit the right information in, but they changed it into wrong information. I resolved this problem by forgetting our differences and became friends (which we did), and that's how I'll resolve them in the future.
