[edit] Eugene van der Pijll

final (30/1/0) ending 18:15 7 June 2005 (UTC)

Eugene van der Pijll has, according to Kate's tool, made 5842 total edits to Wikipedia since he arrived in September 2003. He is a sterling worker, contributing particularly to Netherlands related topics. His contribution history appears to have no significant disputes in it, and there is plenty of praise for his efforts on his talk page. The talk page comments also show that he is ready to exlpain his actions in a calm, professional manner should any confusion arise. In short I think he would make a fine administrator. Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
A. At the moment, I'm not doing anything that would be helped by administrator tools. However, I have spent a large fraction of my time here on janitorial stuff: currently only archiving the Village Pump, but in the past I have done some new pages patrol, and some other vandalism-related chores, and I will probably be doing that in the future again; very likely with the administrators' quick reversion tool. And I'll perhaps lend a hand to other chores that need one.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. I tend to do smaller changes, so it's not my articles that I'm most pleased about. I like the WikiProject Dutch municipalities, with associated template boxes, which I largely wrote. Also, I'm quite proud of the two Wikifun contests I wrote. Currently I'm mainly active in the 2004 Encyclopedia topics project, creating redirects and some stubs.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and will deal with it in the future?
A. I mostly avoid the more controversial articles, When something or someone really annoys me (which happens occasionally), I often take a break from that subject, and when I return a day or so later, I've calmed down. So I don't think most of the stress I've felt about editing here can be seen in my editing. As an administrator, I probably won't touch the more controversial tasks much either.
