[edit] Dreamafter
(3/5/0) final - candidate withdrawn. -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 12:06, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Dreamafter (talk · contribs) - Well, I have been around Wikipedia a long time, about seven months, and in that time, I have done a lot, like welcome users, participate in WP:AFD's, WP:IFD's, WP:AIV, WP:UAA, and WP:ACC. In my time here, I have also started to bring WP:AF back to life, and am currently participating in WP:GW. I also try to help out at WP:AAU, CAT:HELP, and WP:WC. I have been approved for use with WP:AWB, WP:VP, and I also fight vandalism with Twinkle. I have also created a lot of templates. I have created a few articles, and for those with editcountitis, I have over 4000 edits, and a perfect 100% for both minor and major edits, in the summary box. If you look in my block log, you will find one block, but as you can also see, it was a mistake. Lord Dreamy § 01:40, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- I have withdrawn, to work on what the community wants from me. Lord Dreamy § 11:12, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I intend to do a lot of work clearing out the backlogs on a lot of pages, like editor review, WP:AIV, Candidates for speedy deletion, and WP:ANI / WP:AN/3RR. I will also try and rectify the backlog at WP:AFD. Obviously fighting vandalism is a must. WP:SOCK looks like it could need help, so I'll try to work there as well. I also forgot to state that I am currently mediating a case. I would also like to work at WP:RPP, for protection and unprotection.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: As I have said before, my best contributions would have to be Legion Belge and Minor Artemis Fowl Characters, and Anzio War Cemetery. The first two articles, I created and the third article I brought into line with Wikipedia standards. I would also like to say Flight Cadet, Second-in-command, and Battle of Gondar. The reasons that I am proud of these articles are as follows : I either created them, or revamped them, and they are the articles that I have brought up in status.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: I haven't been in any major edit conflicts, so I guess that I have been "lucky". I am mediating a case, as mentioned above, and I would deal with all of the future edit conflicts I might get into in the same way. I would like to deal with them in a good mannered nature, and with discussion, not with blocks.

[edit] Support
- Support I have seen you around Wikipedia doing good things. I actually was considering nominating you, but it never got past the consideration stage and it's a little late for that now. :) I think that you will make a good administrator. Captain panda 02:59, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Somewhat Support. After a cursory look through his contribs, I couldn't find anything to make me oppose. He hasn't been a member for a super long time, but he's done quite a bit in the last six and a half months. I couldn't find a ton of diffs in his last 500 edits showing work in admin-like areas, but he's got a lot of edits overall in the Wikipedia namespace, so I like that. However, his low number of Mainspace edits is a slight blow, I think, because our main purpose here is to create an encyclopedia. I had a really long day at work today, so I don't feel like doing too much more digging right now, so unless some other editors bring to light any recent diffs that I couldn't find, I have confidence in his knowledge and trustworthiness. - Weak support - We all have our moments when we say something we shouldn't under the heat of a situation and live on to regret that moment. I'm sure it has happened to most of us. Although that behaviour needs to be ironed out if you become an administrator. Otherwise, your set of contributions is very good. Lradrama 10:32, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Oppose
- Oppose Previous experiences with this user in the past reveal a severe lack of maturity, specifically this rather uncivil note on my talk page. Not a lot of admin-related area experience; the vast majority of Wikipedia-space edits are manually clearing Wikipedia:Sandbox, Wikipedia:Introduction, and Wikipedia:Tutorial (Editing)/sandbox. GlassCobra 06:04, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- I was having a particularly bad day, not justifying that, just stating that. And I got the float tag from him. Lord Dreamy § 11:15, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose Per the uncivil diff above by Glasscobra, this some what bizarre speedy deletion tag, and a general lack of contribution in admin related areas. Sorry. Pedro : Chat 07:27, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes... I should have checked what I was doing, my apologies. Lord Dreamy § 11:17, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose per inexperience and evidence presented above. Although it didn't contribute to my reasoning, I wasn't exactly inspired with confidence that you have a "big" signature with the name "Lord Dreamy" in it. Although it may seem innocuous to you, it doesn't exactly send the right message to new users (administrators = Lords?). Daniel 08:58, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose - the editor in question may have a 100% edit summary rate, but my intial, firsthand experience (yesterday) of such left me baffled as to the underlying logic. As per the discussion @ List of strategy video games (Is the point ... to ... "look good"?), a bizarrely reasoned revert was followed by a baseless accusation on the part of Dreamafter, evidently stemming from inexperience with Wikipedia diff notation. I don't know this editor from Adam, but anyone up for adminship ought to demonstrate comprehension of basic context diffs. D. Brodale 10:13, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose - I'm not sure the editor in question understands the basics of even when to use the wikify tag, as recently demonstrated to the addition of this tag to Mark Sale. WikiGull 10:27, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
