Creation Destruction (talk · contribs) - Creation Destruction 21:42, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

I accept my self-nomination.

I've been a Wikipedian since 2005, contributing to the site basically on a daily basis. I had an account with a good five thousand edits, but I can't remember the username, nor any information used with it. Tried to look it up but to no avail.

As you can see, I have quite good grammar and spelling, and from my own page(s) you can see that I have fair knowledge of the Wikipedia formatting as well as CSS and some HTML. I figure that I would be a good administrator in that I not only have experience here, but I have experience on other sites such as IPBFree.com that prove my experience and maturity as staff (username: Kreator)

I assure you all that what I lack in Wikipedia experience (which is just basically edits) I make up for with maturity, intelligence, and other experience. I've mastered the formatting and such from being around so long.

Questions for the candidate

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for participants:

1. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Administrative backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
A: I could ban troublesome users, bots, etc. because I surf quite a few articles, I easily notice a good ten to twenty per day probably, that's one of my reasons for applying. I could also correct formatting in articles, spelling errors, names, vandal work, and so on. I'm on a good eight hours a day, mostly just surfing the wikipedia, and I believe with all the time I spend here I could be especially useful with the vandals, that I seem to notice a lot. I could also help out users who don't understand formatting and the like, because a lot of the time they won't trust normal users for some reason.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A: Not at all. There are always different ways to improve, there is always information to be found, I can't really pick out one specific thing I've done. The biggest thing was probably when I completely redid the Korn article, but that was a while back, it's been redone many times since then.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A: I've not had any problems as of late, but I've only had this account for a few days. But from my experiences at other places, I can safely say I deal with conflicts in mature manner, as in when someone has an opposite view point, I can reach an agreement, or we can talk until it is resolved. That is how I have always reacted before to any problems.

Oppose

  1. Oppose. I am sorry, but if you cannot remember a username which you made 5000 edits through over a 2-year span, then we only have your current persona to go on, and that shows insufficient involvement in the project to allow me to be confident that you would be able properly to use the tools.--Anthony.bradbury 22:13, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
  2. Oppose 241 edits to your user space and 14 to main space. I see WP:SNOW in your future. --Spartaz Humbug! 22:27, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
  3. Oppose I can't support you with less than 300 edits, with most of them being in your user space! I really doubt that one can forget a username he/she edited with for two years that easily. - Anas Talk? 22:58, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Neutral

  1. Neutral, leaning towards oppose — while you appear to have good intentions the fact you forgot your old account is disheartening, to say the least. I also do not like the boasting about your English skills, personally I'd of preferred less of the contractions when you're stating you have good spelling and grammar, which would of shown me you're capable of writing formally. You also supported your self, this is unacceptable in my honest opinion. Matthew 22:13, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
  2. Neutral. I'm neutral for the same reason Anthony.bradbury opposes. It does seem you have the best of intentions but from the persona we can see, you lack experience. Continue on your path and maybe try again in 4-6 months. Also, be aware that in your answer to Q1, you listed many things that do not require admin privileges.↔NMajdantalk 22:19, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
