[edit] Bratsche
Vote here (27/1/0) ending 12:30 1 July 2005 (UTC)
Bratsche has been here since January. His Talk: and Wikipedia: space comments show him to be polite, friendly, and interested in furthering civil discussion. He's active in a variety of maintenance projects as well as someone who likes to click on a random page and fix it, and is currently one of many helping to get Funeral of Pope John Paul II to featured status. 2079 edits, for those who care. He'd make good use of the mop and bucket, even if he is a violist! Mindspillage (spill yours?) 12:30, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- Support and resists making a viola joke here ... Excellent editor, even tempered, all the right stuff. Antandrus (talk) 04:23, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Opposed to all the mean-spirited (yet funny) viola jokes while supporting a good editor. Maybe if violists didn't get so much abuse, I wouldn't have quit =). --Spangineer (háblame) 11:56, Jun 24, 2005 (UTC)

- Support - Maybe by becoming an administrator, he'll play the viola less for the good of mankind (smile). Just kidding, however, I do trust Mindspillage's jugdement on this one. Marine 69-71 07:06, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- Strong Support A quick look through contributions shows a great dedication toward tasks such as article categories and the like. Also shows plenty of user interaction. I chiefly remember him from VfD, where his contributions have been less frequent but still always good. Andrew Lenahan - Starblind June 30, 2005 22:18 (UTC)
- Support. Despite what people hear, all violists aren't bad. Bratsche's one of the good ones. ;) -Willmcw June 30, 2005 22:45 (UTC)

- Since Bratsche seems too modest to say so in his response to question 2, I would like to add that Wikipedia:Barnstar and award proposals has taken off recently because of his "Call to action" message that he sent to the various people who were involved with that page. --Deathphoenix 16:59, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
- I intend to help out with the janitorial tasks in the —fD pages, since there is always a need to cut down on the backlog. Wikipedia:Copyright problems will also be on my to-do list, since washing the Wikipedia clean of copyright issues is a large step in establishing the 'pedia as a reliable source of information. Finally, admin powers will assist greatly in RC patrol, and especially new page patrol, since it is much more efficient to delete a speedy deletion candidate on the spot rather than slap a {{d}} tag on it, and wait for another to carry out the deletion.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- So far, the majority of my edits have been low-key. I tend to work a lot on Wiki Fixup Projects, and as Mindspillage noted, I find the random page button easy and useful to use. As far as other contributions go, I try to stay abreast of Wikipedia decision making, like this page, and always enjoy contributing with the folks over at Wikipedia:Barnstar and award proposals, which has taken off lately.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- Most of my conflicts with other users have been minor and few. The one major debate that I was involved in was the question on the use of honorary styles. This debate resulted in several polls, accusations of voting fraud on both sides of the spectrum, three or four RfC's and much heated debate. Throughout this conflict, I tried to stay cool and collected in my own comments to other editors. Near the end of the situation, I took a Wikibreak for a short while, which helped enormously, and the conflict died down by itself.
