[edit] Louisville, KY neighborhoods

I would like to create a template for Louisville, KY neighborhoods. Angry Aspie 22:04, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

More detail is needed. What neighborhoods? Do they have articles already? Oh, I see Louisville neighborhoods, wow there are a lot. —dgiestc 22:19, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Online source

I was wondering if a template coder could code be a collapsible talk page template that would store other {{Onlinesource}} templates so that I could use it on Talk:MMORPG. I would not want it to have all the text written multiple times though. Thanks! Greeves (talk contribs reviews) 22:47, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Edited Talk:MMORPG and replied at User talk:Greeves#Re: Online source. –Pomte 09:51, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Album infobox... type of album

We kinda need a new type for the album infobox: demos.

I think from a previous post here you said that infoboxes are protected from editing, so I'd hope for some information as to officially request this. 70.226.21.172 03:37, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

See how No Life 'Til Leather lists (demo) in its infobox. A past discussion raised concerns about the notability of demos, but as long as there exist some notable demos, there should be demand for it. A better place to request this would be Template talk:Infobox Album. –Pomte 04:23, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Michael J. Fox

I request a template to give shortcuts between the stuff Michael J. Fox is involved in.--Hornetman16 20:47, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Such a template would probably be sent promptly (and rightly) to Templates for Deletion. We generally don't create templates or categories to sort film articles by their actors; that is better served by the Filmography section of the actor's article. EVula // talk // // 20:52, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
That's just the thing he was in not only movies but TV shows, video games, etc. thank you!--Hornetman16 17:22, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Imagine if every movie, TV, video game etc. article had a template for each prolific artist to appear in them. –Pomte 17:46, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Yes it is useful to have a navigation template in articles to lead you between similar topics. We do those all the time for certain types of articles. It's a really bad idea to do them for actor's filmographies. Look at Michael J. Fox: He's been in dozens of things. A template for him would be rather large and potentially added to dozens of articles. But each of those things he's been in has also had numerous other important actors, each of which could theoretically have their own templates added to the article. If we went down this path we would have every film article including a template on every major actor in it, which las links to all the films that actor worked in. It would be a big ugly mess. For this reason navigation templates are generally only added to an article when the links in the template are directly related to the article. Michael J. Fox is related to his films, but none of them are really related to each other. —dgiestc 18:49, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
