[edit] Users who deal with vandalism poorly
In addition to my request above, I have another similar request for good faith users who don't quite do things the best way. This request is for users who deal with vandalism in the wrong way (i.e. who do not revert it). I've used similar messages for several users, and a template would help with this (I just had to type out a message twice, having lost the whole thing going back to get a link). Here's an example of such a message: [1].
The template would read something like this:
Thanks for addressing vandalism [at article name] ([vandal edit] | [your edit]). In future though it would be much better if you could revert vandal edits rather than correcting them manually. If you see something suspicious on a page please check the page history and try to see what has happened - you'll probably discover the last edit was vandalism, which can then be dealt with by simply reverting to the last version. By not correcting vandalism this way we can often let vandals get away with damaging an article, for example their edit may have removed material from the article which never gets added back. Thanks, and please continue to help fight vandalism!
The identification of the article in question and links to vandal edit and the edit where they attempted to fix it would of course be optional fields. Richard001 08:24, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WikiProject Warriors
For this project, we only have this template.
I would like that same text basically just substituted into the top of the WikiProject Novels' Template which looks like this. {{NovelsWikiProject}}
So if this is done, the WikiProject Warriors template should have a section to rate it for its "class" (such as stub, start, B, GA, A, and FA) and "importance" (Low, Mid, High, Top). ~Bella 12:43, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Warning for new editors unaware of the Grim Past: possible edit war templates
Suggestion: "This page has been the site of [inserted number] edit war[s] in its history.", and allusion to the list given on the Lamest Edit Wars page for approved confirmation of the events after the fact. --Chr.K. 08:43, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Vulpix
Could someone make a This user likes Vulpix Template? I would myself but It doesn't seem to work. For help it is similar to the Gardevoir Gallade template on User:Floramage but with Vulpix instead of Gardevoir and Gallade. -I PWN U ALL 17:26, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedians by number of created articles
That would be a nice serie of userboxes; one which shows the number of articles of a wikipedian! It would show right away, the use of editors around here! Randalph P. Williams 14:15, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- This looks similar to a previously requested template, which was turned down. I am not sure whether it is possible to make such a template. Also while number of article created can be useful, it does not give a complete picture ... just like number of edits. -- Myth (Talk) 07:09, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] V sucks
"This user thinks that V sucks" it should have a photo with the character from the movie v for vendetta, and it should be crossed out. --Alien joe 20:30, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Modify "cite book" for use in bibiliogrpahies
Please will someone help modify {{cite book}} as discussed, to allow its use in bibliographies, on pages about authors, without needing to repeat the author's name for each entry. Thank you. Andy Mabbett 22:11, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Modify 'Cite book' for use in single-author bibliographies
Could somebody with the necessary skills (which I lack, sadly) please modify {{Cite book}} for use in bibliographies, on pages about authors, where it is not appropriate to display the author's name in each entry (as described at Template talk:Cite book#Use in Bibliography). Note that the author's name should still be included in the COinS output. Thank you. Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 18:32, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
