[edit] Minor Edits
There is a template directed toward users who overuse the "minor edit" checkbox (Template:minor), but I have not seen one for users who mark minor edits as major. Could one be created? --Gray Porpoise 01:43, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- To be called something like template:useminor and say something like the following? -- Rick Block (talk)
- Please remember to mark your edits as minor when they are (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). "The rule of thumb is that an edit of a page that is spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'."
- Yes, just like that. --Gray Porpoise 10:57, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

- I've copied this discussion to Wikipedia talk:Template messages/User talk namespace#Template for suggesting use of "minor" edits. Creating the template would be no problem, I'm just curious if anyone might have some objection. -- Rick Block (talk) 15:48, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] This article summarized
To be placed on Talk pages of articles that are linked using the {{main|Main Article}} template reading something like, "This article is summarized on the following articles: If you change this article, please update those articles also." Thanks! This template may exist already, but I've looked everywhere for it. --Ephilei 01:03, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- I see you've created Template:SubArticle. -- Rick Block (talk) 02:32, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Captain Beefheart
A template listing the albums, compilations, singles etc. of Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.136.253.159 (talk • contribs)
- Is there another one that's close (perhaps template:Frank Zappa)? If so, you can just copy and paste it, or ask it's creator (which you can find from its history) to make a Captain Beefheart version. If neither of these work out for some reason, please let me know. -- Rick Block (talk) 03:55, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- The {{Captain Beefheart}} template was created September 23, 2006 by User:Ibaranoff24. Mike Dillon 16:23, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sandbox templates
I think it would be useful if a template message (with a name along the lines of template:off-sandbox) was created that reads:
- Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. While you are free to make test edits in the sandbox, please do not post copyrighted, offensive, slanderous, or libelous content in it. This kind of content is not necessary for testing.
Another template, named something like template:sandbox-head, could read:
- Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. You may make test edits in the sandbox, but please leave the sandbox heading alone.
--Gray Porpoise 22:51, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
-
- Why are these needed? These messages can be posted on the sandbox, and if they are deleted, reverting the page is no harder than re-entering the template. --Dgies 05:45, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
