Requiem – Fortissimo is the third part of Virgin Black's Requiem album trilogy and its second installment since Requiem - Mezzo Forte. The album was released on 19 February 2008. The release date was announced on November 12, 2007. Musically, the album will focus on the death/doom style of the early 1990s British groups such as My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost.

The vocalist-keyboardist Rowan London has stated about the album:

But the fearlessness that we inhabited while writing Fortissimo and the Requiem series survives to see its unveiling.
