[edit] The Fight
I see that you claim to have the copyrights to the content of the article on The Fight. This claim, however, does not mean that you can remove the copyright violation notice from the article, or the article from the log of possible copyright violations, until it has been made absolutely clear that you indeed hold those rights. If you indeed do, I will immediately remove the copyright violation notice, and I will add a notice on the log that this has been settled. However, there is a second problem with what you are posting on Wikipedia. The article is a clear advertisement for The Fight. That is a violation of several key Wikipedia policies, such as "Wikipedia is not a soapbox, or a vehicle for propaganda and advertising. Therefore, Wikipedia articles are not: 1. Propaganda or advocacy of any kind. ... 2. Self-promotion. ... 3. Advertising" and the neutral point of view policy. Having an article on The Fight is perfectly fine (provided they meet the criteria on notability in Notability and Music Guidelines), as long as the article doesn't use phrases like "a most promising career", "a band that embodies the spirit of youthful rebellion" and "a whirlwind of chance success" (to name but a few). In short, Wikipedia is not the place to copy-paste blatant advertising and p.r. messages to, even if you hold the copyrights to them. Aecis praatpaal 10:47, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
- I have just read The Fight/Temp, and I must say that I'm impressed. Not only does the content meet every manual of style Wikipedia has, I also wish everyone was as cooperative as you are :) The article has now been nominated for deletion, but I will see what I can do to replace the content that is up for deletion with the content of the temporary page, so that the article can be kept. I'm not completely sure yet whether The Fight meets the criteria on notability, but that shouldn't be much of a problem. Aecis praatpaal 22:53, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
- I also must commend you on quickly Wikifying your article. Well done. I think the best route, as Aecis suggested, is to delete the first page and replace it with the temp. However, whether the band meets WP:NMG is still open to debate. Please be patient as it goes through the process. Cheers. PJM 20:42, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
