[edit] what's the point???

What is the point of this template? Who is going to type in {{Republican Party (United States)/meta/shortname}} if all they get is "Republican" without a link or any formatting or anything extra? I tried to make it more useful and it gets reverted within a day. I just don't get it... ⇔ ChristTrekker 16:22, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

• Retracted. I found uses where adding a wikilink breaks the existing pages. However, the examples I saw were using this for piped links to do exactly what the wikilinked version was doing! So I've created Template:Republican Party (United States)/meta/linkedname to do it in one step, as it should be. ⇔ ChristTrekker 15:53, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
