Here is an idea.

The Representation class is similar to a "container" and the Representation terms and the items put into the container.

Not quite, at least not the way that ISO/IEC 11179 is currently specified.
A Representation term is used as part of a Data element name. A Representation class provides a way to classify or group the associated Data elements. A Representation class is like a specialized Classification scheme — hence the issue referenced from Talk:Representation term.
