Talk:Repository of the Ancients
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- it is likely that it requires the user to have the Ancient Technology Activation gene (ATA gene)but it could mean that the device is programmed not to download the knowledge into Jaffa, as Daniel Jackson said that he would download the knowledge, despite his lack of the ATA gene.
Did Jackson know about the ATA gene when he said this? I thought the gene was discovered after the Ancient outpost was discovered. PrometheusX303 23:11, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
no they were all aware of the ata gene well before then. or rather, they knew that oneill had some dna that allowed him to use ancient tech. not till Atlantis "Hide and Seek" i think did Dr Beckett actually single out the gene.-- Alfakim -- talk 00:17, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
It was mentioned in "Rising" that Beckett had discovered the gene and that there was a test for it. I don't recall any previous mention of ATA, only a theory that some Ancient tech was designed not to respond to the Goa'uld. Brak666 15:45, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] removal of "ATA"
Someone removed all the references to the ATA gene as being called "ATA", claiming the show never uses the term "ATA". I'm sure it does. anyone know for sure? -- Alfakim -- talk 00:21, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
I know it is mentioned a lot in atlantis, but i don't remember it being said in SG1

[edit] different appearances
The Repository as it appeared in Lost City Part I looks different from the repository as it appeared in The Fifth Race. To see the difference, contrast the picture in the article with the picture on the right.
Perhaps this should be mentioned in the article? TerraFrost 04:32, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Third repository
Could we get a source for that third repository that will be shown in The Quest? Anyone? -- SFH 19:26, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
