Reptation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reptation is a theory whereby the movement of linear polymers is restricted into a "tube" by its surroundings (mainly other linear, snake-like polymers).[1]

Within creep (deformation) mechanics, reptation can be seen as reflecting the activation energy driven deformation associated with movements of repeat units in the long-chain polymer.
