What are the names of the also affected generics? Fawcett5 15:42, 14 April 2006 (UTC) --I believe there are none. Renu is a brand line with a couple of contact lens solutions, only a couple of the products were the 'mosture-loc' products and it was only those ones that you need to be concerned about. What is the difference between ReNu with Moisture Lock and ReNu without Moisture Lock?
- Without moisture lock does not seem to have problems. But my optometrist told me to change to Alcon's Opti-free after a mild infection/scratch. It healed in a few days with antibiotic eyedrops. I was using moisture loc leading up to that. I don't know what is up, but it seems ReNu has several liabilities now due to pesky lawyers.--Exander 04:31, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Other uses of the word
I've removed your other uses of the word Renu. You need to start a new page and write about them there. This page is just for ReNu the contact lens solution. Thanks. --Richardrj 14:37, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Other ReNu products
This article only covers the ReNu MoistureLoc problems, despite the topic being "ReNu" and not "ReNu MoistureLoc". As it happens, I use ReNu MultiPlus and being wary of marketing spin and loath to mess around with my eyes, have never tried MoistureLoc thankfully. But there is no information on other ReNu products, it's merely implied the others are OK. A general section mentioning the product line and what they are and differ before having a section on the MoistureLoc recall would be preferable.
I went to a Chemist today to get a new batch, which they didn't have, but said this other thing by Aaxis Pacific, with a completely different packaging, was the same thing by the same people, that they'd just changed the name. I didn't believe them for a second, but thought there was a chance Bausch & Lomb had bought a local company and was using them to sell a locally branded version, since this is the first time I've seen it. Does anyone know any different? If there are health concerns over ReNu and a local product is as good, or even the same, I'd like to know. When it comes to my eyes, I'm very careful. -Msandersen (talk) 03:48, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
