Renton Skinner

Renton Skinner ( b. London England 1973 ) is a British Actor and comedy writer, working in stage, film and television. Renton is a member of the popular British four-man sketch troupe Dutch Elm Conservatoire. The group were nominated for the Perrier award at the Edinburgh fringe festival in 2005.
Renton graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Drama at Middlesex University London ( 1994-97 ). His credits include a 24hr play called The Warp with Ken Campbell. After this he started writing and performing comedy with a sketch troupe called The Benders.He has appeared in numerous TV comedies, most recently playing the lead role of 'Tonka' alongside Ricky Tomlinson in ITV's Mike Bassett: Manager, with other credits including The Office Christmas specials, My Family and Coupling for the BBC amongst others. He played several roles in a BBC Radio 4 series entitled Deep Trouble. Renton's writing credits include Velvet Soup and Revolver for the BBC Scotland. Renton often performs on the character-comedy circuit in London and is currently developing a new character show for edinburgh 2007 called Mr Winchester. He can also be seen in the new forthcoming BBC Three sketch comedy Dogface.
Renton can also be seen in a short film by Tim Plester entitled World of Wrestling in which he plays Dave 'Fit' Finlay a wrestler who enjoyed 'a good rumble'. The film has now been released and will be available on DVD in early 2008 alongside it's companion shorts Blakes Junction 7 and Ant Muzak.
For 2008 Renton can be seen in the forthcoming series of Comedy Cuts on ITV2 and My family, BBC1. He is also working on a television sketch show with The Dutch elm conservatoire for ITV2 whilst continuing his live work on the London comedy circuit with Mr Winchester and Tommy with actor Tom Verrall.
