The Reno Silver Sox are an independent Golden League team based in Reno, Nevada. Their roster and coaching staff for 2006, the team's inaugural season, was the same used by the Mesa Miners the season prior. Mesa folded following the 2005 season. The Silver Sox could be forced to move because of the Tucson Sidewinders reported move to Reno, Nevada. Reportedly talks have begun which could lead to the Silver Sox becoming the new Tucson Toros.[1]
- Notables:
- In 2006, their inaugural season, they won the Golden Baseball League Championship.
- Manager Les Lancaster was named the GBL Manager of the Year for the 2006 season. [2]
