The Reno Raiders will be a professional ice hockey franchise in the ECHL, with an unknown planned start date.
Originally created in 1995 as the Reno Renegades a charter member of the West Coast Hockey League. They were later renamed to Reno Rage after the 1996-1997 season, and ceased operation after the 1997-1998 season.
Larry Leasure bought the dormant franchise in 2000, and announced in May 2006 that he was about to start construction on an arena in Reno that would house the Raiders in 2007-08.
As of early spring 2008, there has been no progress on an arena to house the team.
