Renegade Hardware
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Renegade Hardware is one of the pioneer record labels in the drum and bass music industry. Creatively born in South London by CEO Clayton Hines & Mark Hill in 1995, the label was initially a subdivision of the original Trouble on Vinyl.
Since its first release in 1996 (RH01 - Future Forces A: Flash Gordan, B: Jeep Beats) the label has established itself with some of the most influentional & recognised talents within Drum & Bass. Artists such as Konflict, Keaton, Usual Suspects, Universal Project, Dom and Roland, DJ Friction, Cause 4 Concern, DJ Ink, Loxy, Raiden, Evol Intent, John B,Gridlok and many others have released material through the label.
In 2003 Barcode Recordings was created as sister label to Renegade Hardware. Barcode's initial concept was to nurture new talent and establish up and coming artists but some would argue it has a much heavier and darker sound than Renegade Hardware. Artists such as Counterstrike, Donny, T.Z.A and Raiden have gone on to become established within the Barcode sound.
