[edit] About

Rendezvous is a live action role-playing game, or LARP, that centers on a horror-fantasy setting, with a western twist. It takes place in a newly settled fort in the base of the mostly unexplored Rendezvous Valley. In a world of over 20 races, you can choose from the classic tabletop races as well as a horde of completely original ones. Players pay $35, for the first event and $40- $45, depending if the player pre-registers, to play their characters at a typical weekend event. (With occasional one-day events with a $15 as a base donation admission.)

Rendezvous supports the U.S Military and offers a military discount on top of any other discounts that apply.

Every event has fully phys-reped, or physically represented, dungeon modules that changes throughout the year. The storyline is altered, re-written and made to fit with the actions of the players after every event. There are many underlying, deep, long-lasting plot lines with a multitude of equally intricate shorter-running plot lines running at the same time; so there is never a shortage of things to research, find out and do. The Storyteam, the wonderful people in charge of all of the stories and entertainment every month, is comprised of a group with diverse LARPing experience from different LARPs and games and are all ready and willing to help immerse every player into the world of Rendezvous.

[edit] Combat and System

Using both latex and foam/pvc boffer weapons, as well as well-modified and painted nerf guns for a completely original combat system. It is a combination of hit location and a hit point system that allots a certain amount of hit points to each limb and to the torso. Twelve schools of magic run on a mana system and there is a full Gawd system, as well, with five Gawds to choose from. Options to simply represent and follow a Gawd or be a full Priest which opens up entirely new spells called Miracles that operate on Faith.

A player is allowed up to three characters, a player-character or PC. There are lots of other equally immersing options for a player; a traveling bard with protective magics while the character performs, a sneaky rogue who can get through any trap and pick any lock, a mage who creates magical items of great power, a healer who protects life from the evils of the Tween or a scholar with access to all of the most well guarded secrets. The game is class-free, all skills are open to any/all players and character types.
