Did you not know that the imperial fluid ounce was defined to be the volume of one imperial ounce of water? The US fluid ounce is less obviously defined, but I'm sure there must have been logic behind it. There is still some PoV to be corrected in the article, but please don't go to the opposite extreme of slamming non-metric units. They were all carefully chosen in their day!
