Remedial action

A remedial action is action intended to correct nonconformities. Specifically, remediation refers to action beyond correction of a cited and detected nonconformity and pertains to action taken to address previously/potentially undetected nonconformities.

In some settings, corrective action is used as an encompassing term that includes remedial actions, corrective actions and preventive actions.
