FYI, Reliant did not have a monopoly on Texas energy as stated in the article. ("In 2002, the state of Texas deregulated Reliant's monopoly on electricity...") I am changing the wording to reflect that the monopoly was held by TXU. - An Interested Texan

I removed this marketing garbage:

Today, Reliant Energy is committed to delivering the benefits of competition to its customers by providing innovative products, programs and services to meet customer needs. Reliant strives to care for the communities in which it provides business and also deliver on its promises to 1.9 million customers every day. The company is continually evaluating new opportunities offered by the evolution of competitive markets in the U.S. and is actively investing and participating in helping new markets to develop.

Straight out of a press release, or at least that's how it reads to me. Anyway, definitely non-encyclopedic. --MUSpud2 20:08, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
