[edit] Controversy

I like Relena and the Heero/Relena pairing a lot, yet I feel that some parts of the Controversy section were just TOO biased towards her. Not to mention the sweeping generalizations made about the female part of the fandom and yaoi fans, and how the part referring to the 1xR pairing almost looks like ripped-off a fan shrine dedicated to it.

Less bias, please; Relena's role in the story is more complex and rich than "the hero's sweet girlfriend", and not ALL the 1x2 fans hate her. Lunamaria 13:13, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

I readded the controversy section (in fact, yours truly had created the article). During GW's heyday, when the show aired on Toonami, there were several anti-Relena webpages on the various anime weblink pages everywhere (e.g., on the AniPike). Just do a Google search. To borrow an old cliche, to this day, hardly any anime-related webpage, message board, or blog goes by without somebody taking shots at Relena. Moved "Controversy" section to Fan Reaction to Relena Peacecraft, and provided a link in Relena Peacecraft. Though the information is only semi-encyclopedic and can be seen as biased, outright removal could cause a "reversion war". - Mintchocolatebear 01:30, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Well, now we have the Controversy section at this article, at Fan Reaction to Relena Peacecraft and at Fan Reactions to Relena Peacecraft. Use move to rename an article, don't create it. And "Reaction" should go in lowercase, as it is not a proper name. Decide quick before I delete those articles. -- ReyBrujo 01:46, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Nevermind, I redirected them all here. Note that, if the controversy section is not encyclopedic, then you should convert it into an encyclopedic entry. Moving that into an article is not enough, because the content would still be unencyclopedic and would be deleted anyways. -- ReyBrujo 02:08, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
This page is not on my watchlist, but I just want to point out that fanfic information generally does not meet verifiability and notability requirements (Ranma 1/2 character articles had all fanfic cruft removed some time ago, for example). As such, I don't think the Controversy section should remain. JuJube 05:16, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Another problem is that the section almost entirely consists of unsourced original research and as such will be removed anyway if sources are not provided. JuJube 05:18, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
No comment, so it's gone. JuJube 09:45, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Fan reaction to Relena is fairly significant. She was the target of an unprecedented amount of vitriol. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.245.70.207 (talk) 06:56, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Can you provided any reliable sources to this fan reaction? The problem with the original section is that it was entirely built on original research, which isn't permitted on Wikipedia no mater how "accurate" that research is. --Farix (Talk) 12:06, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia

I removed the trivia section. The one detail it has is unconfirmed, and might very well be untrue, and if it is untrue it invalidates the listed birthdates for Quatre Winner and Wufei Chang, which could very well be true and verified. If someone can verify that we do not know any other character's birth dates, it should come back up, but baring that I think it's best to take down. Iwanttobeasleep 05:27, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Japanese Name?

If you look at the article for most anime characters- for example, Heero Yuy- it mentions the character's Japanese name and how the name is written (in the case of the aforementioned article, "ヒイロ・ユイ, Hiiro Yui"). I notice that the Relena article, however, is lacking this particular piece of information. I honestly don't really know much about this series; if I were, I would be able to add the name myself. Can anyone with some degree of familiarity with the character give me a hand with this? Thanks in advance.--Tally Solleni 08:05, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Darlian VS Dorian. Ugh.

Let's hear it for more misspelling of Yoshiyuki Tomino's Western names. First Sarah Moss and Charles Aznavour of Gundam 0079 became "Sayla Mass" and "Char Aznable". Then Mabel of Aura Battler Dunbine became the idiotic "Marvel". And now "Lorena Dorian" has been forever corrupted into "Relena Darlian". "Loh-RAY-nuh" could be easily mispronounced as "Lah-REE-nuh" by a Japanese speaker, then the L/R flip creates "Relena". Same thing with Dorian (as in John Dorian or Dorian Gray.

This is ridiculous. How difficult is it to figure out Western names? Answer please? 98.203.251.157 (talk) 02:41, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
