Rejean Cournoyer

Rejean Cournoyer is a Canadian actor and singer, born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on December 5th 1971. After graduating from Mount Saint Vincent University with a degree in Public Relations, he began working at the Charlottetown Festival in their Young Company, then made his way to Toronto in 1995 to pursue his acting career. He had a recurring role in the short-lived situation comedy Rideau Hall in 2001, was awarded an ACTRA Award for his role in Thom Fitzgerald's feature film The Event (film) in 2003 and was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award in Toronto in 2004 for originating the role of Joseph Beausoleil in the Canadian Musical epic PĂ©lagie. Comfortable in comedy, drama, and musical theatre, Cournoyer has appeared across Canada in leading roles in many of the country's Regional and National theatres. He is especially no stranger to audiences at Neptune Theatre (Halifax), where he has appeared in productions of Grease (musical), Tuesdays with Morrie, A Few Good Men, Oliver!, and Disney's Beauty and the Beast (musical). In 2007, he recorded and released a bilingual compilation of soft jazz standards and French art songs, entitled The Very Thought of You.
