Memel was never part of the conquered territories. It became half a year before the beginning of World War II part of Germany again.

Probably true, strictly-speaking , but regaining Memel would still have been a product of Nazi expansionism and bullying of its neighbours. Folks at 137 14:40, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

People who can't even speak english properly should not be allowed to contribute to the english-speaking wikipedia. none of this article makes any sense, the grammar is impossible and there are errors everywhere. --82.47.165.106 15:56, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

Don't agree. The contributor clearly has specific information which adds to Wiki. I do agree that the language was "difficult" and I've attempted to sub-ed spelling, phrasing, etc without altering the original meaning. I hope it's ok. I may, given time, attempt to group the info under general headings. Comments?
I suspect that the German administrations may have re-used German placenames such as "Reval" for "Tallinn". Is this correct and are there other examples?

In German were used German names and in Estonian Estonian ones.
