Attended Oberlin College, and then went to graduate school at both Princeton University and then Stanford University for his doctorate in Computer Science.

From 1994 to 2000 was at Pixar.

From 2000 to 2003 was CEO of Thrave.

From 2003 to 2008 was at Dreamworks Animation.

Wrote, directed, and produced feature-film Broken Arrows.

At Stanford became friends with Sergey Brin, Larry Page, and Martin Roscheisen who helped fund the film "Broken Arrows".
