The organisation REHASWISS was founded in 1977 by Mr. Joseph Aerthott, a naturalized Swiss of Indian origin, along with few Swiss friends. The idea and goal behind the organization REHASWISS is to help the disabled people in the third world, especially on the Indian subcontinent. REHASWISS is certified by ZEWO as a charity organization and is authorized to use the ZEWO seal.
REHASWISS is a politically and confessionally neutral organization. With the help of donations, membership contributions and patrons as well as contributions from the Swiss government, municipalities, churches and other institutions REHASWISS succeeds in helping around 700 to 1000 disabled people every year, to find a self supporting job and a decent livelihood. At present REHASWISS is working in cooperation with around 25 NGO’s in India and Bangladesh. The local partners select and accompany the beneficiaries, to guarantee a successful accomplishment of their goal.
