Regiunea Constanţa

Regiunea Constanţa (Constanţa region) was one of the 1950 newly established administrative divisions of the People's Republic of Romania, set after the soviet style.

The capital of the region was Constanţa, and at first, its territory comprised an area a bit larger than the nowadays Constanţa County. In 1952 it asimilated rayon Feteşti of the dissoluted Ialomiţa region, ceded to Bucureşti region in 1960. In 1960 it merged with the South-Eastern rayons of the Galaţi region to form Dobrogea region, comprising the area of the nowadays Constanţa and Tulcea counties.
