Regina Morrow is a character in the Sweet Valley High book series.
[edit] Character
Regina was the daughter of computer tycoon Kurt Morrow and his former fashion model wife Skye, and was very close to her older brother Nicholas. Her family was protective of her, perhaps because she was born partially deaf, a result of diet pills her mother had taken while pregnant. She, like her brother, first appeared in SVH#13, Kidnapped.
Despite previously attending boarding schools, Regina began at Sweet Valley High where she was instantly popular, and became good friends with Elizabeth Wakefield.
Regina followed in her mothers footsteps when she scored a modelling job with Ingenue, a fictitious fashion magazine.
Everyone was shocked when Regina began dating Bruce Patman, an obnoxious and arrogant senior who was known for being unfaithful. Although her friends expected Bruce to break Regina's heart, he surprised them; he had genuinely fallen in love. His relationship with Regina turned him into a more likeable person.
When Regina found out about a treatment facility in Switzerland that could restore her hearing, she was reluctant to leave Bruce. However he encouraged her to go and the treatment was a success.
When she returned to Sweet Valley she found herself in the middle of a hostage situation. Crazed former employees of her father's had kidnapped Regina and her parents for ransom. Nicholas and Bruce, with the help of the Wakefields, came to their rescue.
Regina and Bruce broke up after she found him with Amy Sutton. Hurt and humiliated, she drifted away from her friends and started hanging out with Justin Belson and his friends, who had a reputation for drug use. At a party thrown by Justin's ex-girlfriend, Molly Hecht, Regina did two lines of cocaine. This killed her by aggravating her rare heart murmur.
