Regatta (clothing)

Regatta is a high quality outdoor and sports brand producing coats, fleeces, gloves and other clothes. Established in 1981, it is in competition with Karrimor, The North Face, Eurohike and Lowe Alpine.

Their clothes can be found in outdoor stores. Their clothing has a reputation of being durable and long-lasting.[citation needed] They make clothes for casual use but they specialise in outdoor clothing.

Since trading first began in 1981, the Black family have expanded the business considerably over the last 25 years. Branching into the Ski-wear market with Dare2be, the footwear market with Regatta and more recently, in collaboration with a Stockport based company called Eyewear Europe a new sunglasses range for 2007.

Today, Regatta is one of the UK's leading outdoor companies[citation needed] and is still uniquely a family company. Now employing over 350 staff at its Manchester headquarters which are housed in Trafford Park close to the Trafford Centre & the new Chill Factor artificial ski slope.

Regatta is owned and run by Lionel Black (Chairman), son Keith (managing Director), and daughter Joanne (Buying Director).
