[edit] Could/couldn't care less

User:Anonymous 57 recently made a couple edits that substantially (and apparently unilaterally) changed this section, changing the perspective from anti-"could care less" to pro-"could care less." I think his reasoning is pretty weak, and that the majority of people would disagree that "could care less" is sarcasm rather than a simple error. I am pretty sure this wasn't a bad faith edit, although his addition of "What is lost on many is that the phrase is intended sarcastically. Think of it as shorthand for "As if I could care less!" and all becomes clear, or at least, slightly less unclear (particularly to those with Asperger's Syndrome, who appear[citation needed] to be rife on Wikipedia—no insult intended)." makes me less certain. Either way, I think this was an inappropriate change to make without establishing concensus, and unless anyone has a reasonable objection I'm going to revert it. -Elmer Clark 00:14, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I've gone ahead and reverted it. Please discuss such substantial and potentially controversial changes here before making them. -Elmer Clark 17:00, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
