[edit] Producers of TV shows

When the credits appear, usually superimposed over the opening action, it's common to see sequences like:

  • Producer - Bill Smith
  • Producer - Herman Manglethorpe
  • Co-producer - Mary Jones
  • Co-producer - Elvira Prentiss
  • Co-producers - Fred Nutter and Ingrid Vercotti
  • Executive producer - blah blah
  • Co-executive producer - blah blah
  • Supervising producer - blah blah
  • another Producer - blah blah
  • Producers (plural) - 2 or 3 names
  • maybe some music or writing credits
  • then back to some other kind of producer, with one or more names
  • Produced by - blah blah
  • maybe another Produced by - blah blah
  • etc.

  • 1. What's the difference - if any - between all these different types of producer?
  • 2. What's the difference between "Producer - name(s)" and "Produced by - names(s)"? How is it possible that Joe Bloggs was one of the producers, but the show wasn't produced by him?
  • 3. Why are some only one name, but others more than one?
  • 4. Why aren't all the producers, at least all the ones of the same variety, lumped together?
  • 5. Why do music and other credits appear between production credits?
  • 6. Who's the boss, and how can they tell? -- JackofOz (talk) 00:44, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't know, but stylistically, asking about credits in a cascading scroll, looks very cool. Julia Rossi (talk) 09:26, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Oh, all right. I went to the article Film producer and y'know, a producer isn't someone to mess with. From your observation, maybe they won't even mess with each other - and a producer wouldn't been seen dead being topped by another producer's name standing for the whole gang. Though actors do, directors do... mess with billing sequences, as at billing.Julia Rossi (talk) 10:42, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Ta Julia. That answers question #1 and possibly #5 and perhaps #6. The rest, anyone? -- JackofOz (talk) 06:27, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
It's all about the money & the lawyers. Steve Botchko 17:12, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Question

What is the longest time between a game's release in Europe and in Australia (with Aus coming after Eur)? 125.162.175.181 (talk) 05:30, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I have no knowledge of this, but I expect that there are some games (I presume we are talking PC/game_console types of games) that have been released in Europe and never released in Australia. Does this help? Or are you in Aus waiting for a specific game to come out there? -- SGBailey (talk) 15:53, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] the introduction of seven to voyager

Moved from Miscellaneous by BrainyBabe (talk) 07:34, 17 April 2008 (UTC):

How successful was the introduction of seven to voyager in terms of viewership ratings? Is there a graph? Tinker Tenor (talk) 19:26, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Borg tits are fantastic. Seven of Nine is the only reason most of us watched Star Trek Voyager.
ps. I assume your username is a reference to Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.75.169.43 (talk) 19:38, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't know, but whenever she had an actual uniform (as in Relativity for example), she was much hotter. (Same for Counselor Troi.) Adam Bishop (talk) 02:09, 17 April 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.210.170.49 (talk)
Yeah, I agree. But I wished they'd kept her more borg-like and put her in a makeshift starfleet uniform, you know with more metal bits and such. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lord kelvin of fahrenheit (talk • contribs) 08:53, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
You're right, borg tits are fantastic. ; ) Julia Rossi (talk) 09:28, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 1966 Novel made into film

Hello, was their a 1966 Novel that was made into film that won a Golden Globe in the 80`s? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.71.132.124 (talk) 09:48, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Until an expert comes along, you might like to scroll through these: List of Golden Globe Award winning films. Julia Rossi (talk) 10:45, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Could be The French Lieutenant's Woman, although the year is a bit out - 1969 not 1966. The film version came out in 1981 and Meryl Streep won a Golden Globe for it. --Richardrj talk email 10:54, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Couldn`t find it in their. Ach well :(. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.71.132.124 (talk) 12:50, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

The Jewel in the Crown was published in 1966. It was turned into a miniseries that won a Golden Globe for Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for TV in 1986. This is as close as I could find.--FreeKresge (talk) 19:03, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
