[edit] August 14
[edit] Seinfeld being 80s
Does Seinfeld count as an 80s show? Heegoop, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- I saw it's listed under Category:1980s American television series, but I think that's a misleading label. The bulk of episodes was produced and aired in the 90s, and Seinfeld's heyday was in the 90s as well. If we played Scattergories or Facts in Five or whatever your local game of categories might be called, and we had the category "1980s shows" and the letter S, I wouldn't accept Seinfeld anymore than I would accept The Simpsons. ---Sluzzelin talk 04:29, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Sluzzelin!! I never had you down for a boardgame Nazi! ;) Rockpocket 17:35, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Seinfeld made its debut in the spring of 1990 so there's no way that one could call it an 80s show. The Simpsons debuted as a series in 1989 and as shorts on the Tracey Ullman Show somewhat before that, so I might be more willing to call that a 1980s show. Donald Hosek 17:37, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Roxanne
"told you once, I won't tell you again it's..."
What the heck does Sting mumble at the end of this line? I thought I was quite good at understanding Geordie, but I'm defeated. --Dweller 16:30, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- I've always heard "... it's a bad way" but I have no proof. --LarryMac | Talk 17:02, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
-
- Heh. I hear five syllables, but it's such a mess, it could be anything. --Dweller 17:09, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Is there a live recording on which it's clearer, perhaps? --Dweller 17:09, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- If you go to youtube and punch in the keywords "Sting", "Roxanne", and "live", you get the Original Live Aid Broadcast from July 13, 1985 (with Branford Marsalis on soprano sax). Sting clearly sings "it's a bad way". Lyrics websites have "it's a bad way" too. I guess he sings "It's a bad-uh-way", adding up to five syllables. ---Sluzzelin talk 18:35, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- OK, thanks chaps. --Dweller 19:54, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- What he sings is "it's a crime the way you..." --Richardrj talk email 04:48, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Lol - it sounds to me like "its that crime you way". Even in Geordie, neither of those make much sense. I just can't hear "it's a bad way", but at least it makes a bit more sense. --Dweller 09:26, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

- That's as may be - and Sluzzelin has already mentioned it above - plus the lyric on String's official website says the same thing, and I agree he sings that on the Live Aid clip. However I am still sticking to my "crime the way you..." line on the recorded version of the song - I distinctly recall reading that line in the lyric when the song was a hit. By the way, you're not supposed to link to copyright-violating lyrics websites. --Richardrj talk email 15:59, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] wii mii perady
why cant i see my friends miis when i go to mii perady he is registed and we have are miis on mingle and we have travle seting set to travle but it dosnt work.thx --Sivad4991 21:20, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- The miis will only travel if both of your wiis are on (or on standby) at the same time. Even if you meet this requirement, it will take a LONG TIME, the miis tend to wander rather than run directly from system to system. The idea being that you have say 20 or so friends in your wii list, and you will get some random miis from their plazas and not all of them. It's meant to introduce excitement. But if you only have one friend with one mii, i can understand your frustration :). It will take a long time. I recommend playing about making more miis in your plaza, and encouraging your friend to do the same, and maybe that will increase the chance. The exact mechanics of mii propogation through parades is not well known. Capuchin 13:53, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Downloading movies
i wanted to know about the downloading of the movies, i here that you can dwn load them on mininova,is that true and how
- Downloading movies by bittorrent is of dubious legality. Easy and fun, but still...SaundersW 21:59, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- For content that is legally downloadable, the basic steps are:
- Install a BitTorrent client program such as Azureus
- Download the .torrent file from the web for the content you want to download
- Add this .torrent file to your BitTorrent client program, and wait for the full download to begin. This will only happen if there are other people around who already have the content on their hard drives and are currently sharing it.
