One of the particel advantages of the reflex bow is that it could be shot from horseback.

A particuler tactic of the Magyarok (Hungarians) and Huns was that they engaged the enemy, then attempted to flee. As the enraged enemy followed, sensing victory, the Huns and Magyarok shoot them down (while fleing, as the rider could turn backwards while the riding a horse, a demontration of their skill with horses).

This tactic was very effective, its weakness not discovered becuse of the limited network of information of the medevil ages.

already has its own article under parthian shot i think, it was also used by Scaracens and Mongols 58.168.248.170 01:55, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Avoid duplication please

There is quite a lot on the construction and development of various forms of composite bow under that heading, also under Turkish and Korean bows, Parthian shot, horse archers, etc. I'd suggest not duplicating information here; please check the relevant articles before editing. (There may be room for a separate article, or details here, on Indian "crab bows".) Richard Keatinge (talk) 11:27, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
