How to

I created my user page by looking at other people's then adapting what I thought would work for me. Phaedriel might help you with your design or know someone who can if she can't. Regards, (aeropagitica) 21:48, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, of course I can make a design for you, dear Violinist, but I may need a little more content than your current - I suggest you write a little more about yourself, explaning your visitors what your interests are, for example. Try and add a little more to your userpage, and let me know when you're done so I can do my "magic" ;) Love, Phaedriel - 20:39, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

copyvio

Hey Redmarkviolinist! Thanks for catching that copyvio on the article Barbara Czarniawska. However, don't forget to add the url ot template {{db-copyvio|url= }}. With the url provided, admins can just delete without having to search for the website themselves. Also you put the warning template on User:Rolsol's user page, and not his talk page. These are just little oversights, mistakes anyone could make, but I wanted to bring them to your attention so you could avoid them in the future. Anyway, happy editing!--Esprit15d 13:49, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Code on your signature

The code on your sig is causing problems because you didn't close down the element : [1] Would you mind just ammendikng the markup in your preferences..... Ta! Pedro :  Chat  14:03, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Could you please fix your signature? All that you must do is add to the end of the code within your preferences. Otherwise, it causes problems. Thanks, - auburnpilot talk 16:59, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Adminship

I nominated you for Adminship. If you become an administrator, use your almighty powers wisely. Thanks you for all your hard work and all your contributions.

Your signature

Just letting you know that your signature seems to be missing a tag on the end. You'll see here that this causes messages after the signature to appear small, and addition of the end tag here fixes it. Raven4x4x 03:03, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Liberal spreading of Template:Ancient Greece topics

Isn't it the normal practice to put such templates only on the principal articles that are actually important enough to the topic to be worth the space to list them in the template? This template has a very large screen footprint, so its presence on minor stub articles, where you've added it, can seem a bit disproportionate and overwhelming. Wareh 19:11, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

I concur. I was just about to post here about that very same thing. Your mass use of {{Ancient_Greece}} has been fairly indiscriminate, being appended to articles that are of satisfactory length for the subject (sometimes there just isn't that much information on a thing), or to articles that, if tagged at all, would be more suitably tagged with one of the more precise templates, such as {{AncientGreece-bio-stub}}. Blindly adding them to articles without using judgement as to what template to use, or whether or not they even belong there in the first place, is not helping anybody. Rfa, part 2

If you actually want your nomination to be considered, and keep in mind my previous advice, you must transclude it on Wikipedia:Requests for adminship. - auburnpilot talk 22:01, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Your recent RfA

I'm sorry, but I've closed your Request for adminship prematurely. Simply put, you've only got 513 edits on Wikipedia; while edit count isn't the only determining factor, and numerous people have their own personal standards that they judge RfA candidates by, there was no chance that the RfA was going to pass.

I'm sorry about this, and hope you don't take it personally. If you continue to contribute to the project in a positive fashion, I'm confident that you could possibly run a successful RfA in the future. You may want to consider submitting yourself to Wikipedia:Editor review for feedback on where to get some good experience, and when you're ready for RfA again, there's a great Wikipedia:Admin coaching program for you to use, as well as a guide to requests for adminship.

If you have any other questions about becoming an administrator, please don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck! EVula // talk // // 18:48, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Speaking of which

I was wondering why you're displaying in your userbox a plate that says you've had 1500 edits, and a Journeyman badge (which is intended for those with 2000+ edits and 6+ months editing Wikipedia). Particularly since it says right there on your userpage that you've only been editing five months, and it was mentioned in your RfA you've only got 500 edits, half of them to your own userpage. Billy Moses

Please read and understand the criteria for speedy deletion before threatening users with blocks. The nonsense tag you placed was inappropriate, and the article asserts notability, so speedy deletion does not apply in this case. I have tagged the article for notability, and it may go to AfD, but it is not speediable at this point. Acroterion (talk) 05:00, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

FYI, Billy Moses was deleted after all, as a recreation of previously deleted material (8 times!). I should have checked the deletion log. However, it's best to assume that the creator of an article doesn't know the rules, and should be warned in mild terms about removing speedy deletion templates, rather than going straight to a warning that they will be blocked. Regards, Acroterion (talk) 13:14, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

RE:Matt ruske

I just wanted to let you know that I am removing your proposed deletion and re-adding the speedy delete as this is a candidate for speedy delete and the tag I placed was on the page first. Just thought I would let you know.

Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008

Hi! You tagged this article for speedy deletion as a copyvio. But you didn't mention where it is copied from. And it seems a remarkably short and factual line of text to be identified as a copyvio? --Stormie 05:50, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

That is because this user was doing this as sort of a series or something. They had multiple copies of these, all on different countries, all copied from the same site. Redmarkviolinist 06:55, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:Monte Berico.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:100 0090.JPG. The copy called Image:100 0090.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 02:30, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
