I'd let it lie this time. I suspect that DS67 won't do it again after having caused a fuss this time. If it happens again, then we should figure out somewhere up the chain to take it.Kww (talk) 15:02, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Corrections.com Subpage Help

Just got the message that you have nominated our subpage for deletion. Our committee (wardens, sheriffs, commissioners, officers..) is relatively new to Wikipedia and are working on developing a wikipedia page with notability. We have received direction from 2 other users who have deleted our pages in the past. One of them was kind enough to move our page to what he called a 'subpage' so we could continue to work on our draft before it was brought back to the main pages. (USER: Seresin and Jimfbleak). But now we are confused? Please help explain what is happening so I can report back to our committee. see our talk history to understand how this subpage was created. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Cjneversleeps. Our next meeting at the state house is next Friday. Thank you.Cjneversleeps (talk) 16:26, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Corrections Community

Thank you for feedback. I am an independent writer. And I will make sure to stay within these guidelines when writing about them. I am using the Peace Officer's Association page as my model - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Correctional_Peace_Officers_Association. Also American Correctional Association - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Correctional_Association. And the Prison Officer's Association - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prison_Officers_Association. If there is a better example to follow, that would be a huge help. Many thanks.Cjneversleeps (talk) 19:56, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Dual Band Blade Antenna

Thank you for your quick review of the article. It is under construction and will take approximately 3 weeks to complete. It will be highly technical with references and CEM to back up statements. Please keep this in mind when requesting deletion. Also, please review any time and post comments. This is my first article from scratch and just learning the wikipedia markup language (is there a way to do most of the document in LaTeX and not just the math?). Just learning to force line breaks etc on wikipedia, again, is it just latex commands?? Reading the help files now. --Wallace (talk) 22:26, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Relisting articles

Hi Redfarmer,

I just wanted to stop by and remind you that when you relist AfD discussions, you need to go ahead and remove their transclusions from the original log (ideally by commenting them out with <!-- -->) in addition to adding them to the new one. Otherwise, those discussions are considered as being open for however long it takes them to run in relisted form, throwing Mathbot for a loop when it comes time to check the number of items at WP:AFDO.

I've gone ahead and taken care of the March 11 items, though, so no worries there. Thanks! --jonny-mt 02:35, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Tree Frog Radio

"in any case, it's not notable"(that's your quote, the following is my reply) 0."notable" who is to be the real judge of "notable" ? really? 1.I am completely new to this wiki writing thing. do you want to turn me off, from the get go, of contributing to our commons? 2.I am a writer (really) and I am trying to describe part by part (article by article) a musical and social sub culture that has developed around my neck of the woods(Vancouver Island BC CANADA).but of course I have a life too, so re edit and more reedits to come. 3.with a little loving kindness and patience I think we all will agree it is worth the realtime taken to describe a real fun and meaningful musical sub culture "scene" that developed around Hornby Island (and elsewhere) BC CANADA —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ben Wobbles (talkcontribs) 05:40, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Tree Frog Radio

"The issue here is whether it is notable or not, and it seems to fail several Wikipedia policies, especially WP:N and WP:V. To be considered notable, a subject must have received independent, verifiable coverage in secondary source material. You need to establish this to save the article. Redfarmer (talk) 08:59, 19 March 2008 (UTC)" wow I guess some of you really get off on your godlike powers to delete meaningful (yet presently incomplete) information from wiki, you have left a bad taste in my mouth and may have turned me off of contributing to wikipedia at all, I hope you are satisfied. Tree Frog Radio is the only locally organized and local content station in our area, completely voluntary participation and going on air for 3 years now, it is part of the world wide "notable" phenom called "micro powered radio" we are talking direct, people created radio, freedom of speech etc. I did plan to include articles about the free college, free meals programs, and other "ground up" groups that have contributed "notable" meaningful social change in our area. There are articles on wikipedia about hornby island bc, musical sub cultures, social groups of people, etc. etc. I just wanted the freedom to contribute to the communal pool of knowledge, but I feel snubbed by snobs, you guys are really quick to judge something you admit you know nothing about. 3 years tree frog radio has been on air and all you can say is "not notable" wow maybe you should take a look around wikipedia and see articles about one persons 300 page iphone bill, talk about "not notable". eye of the beholder is really what we are talking about here, maybe you don't personally feel the world needs to know about an semi organized anarchist cooperative running a semi revolutionary "peoples radio station" but I do feel the world deserves to be reminded of any and all meaningful agents of world change no matter on what scale, local, global etc. peace out (I was looking forward to learning wiki language markup, slowly day by day as I,and others hopefully, contributed to this article, but maybe this isn't the "peoples" encyclopedia I thought is was, as advertised. cliquey, self righteousness is exclusive, I honestly thot the idea here was to be inclusive, maybe just wishful thinking on my part ?)Ben Wobbles (talk) 16:49, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

RE: Better Courts

I was simply concerned with the number of accounts and ips showing up out of nowhere whose only contributions are to this discussion or the article in question. I completly understand. I was speaking with Marasmusine a while back, and I can understand the need to look at newly created groups with a critical eye. Anyway, you asked me to address COI issues, and as you probably already saw, my rant was also written to quell any thought that the page was written with any WP:COI issues, not just SPA issues. I tried to address any possible criticism in one easy-to-read section. I refer you to that statement, because I think it succently discribes my reasons for creating the article in the first place. Note on an AfD

I don't usually (which means, basically, I never have) run around to AfD participants on AfDs I close commenting on comments, but I just wanted to tell you that I found your arguments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Last of The Summer Wine cast members succinct, persuasive & nicely neutral. Well done. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:34, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Tree Frog Radio

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_radio_stations_in_British_Columbia&oldid=154755112#Denman_Island since this page began (List_of_radio_stations_in_British_Columbia) in aug of 2007 there has been mention of tree frog radio, I happened to read this page and decided I had more information to help fill in the gaps of knowledge on this page (List_of_radio_stations_in_British_Columbia)regarding ctfr, I am adding to the pool of info that someone already deemed "notable"(and wikipedia accepted since aug 2007). this is not a vanity thing I am enhancing the amount of verifiable and true and meaningful info on this page(List_of_radio_stations_in_British_Columbia) by creating a page about tfr, someone was/is obviously interested enuf in radio stations in bc to have listed the existence of ctrf since aug 2007, think about it for a minute, how can it be "notable" and ok for someone to talk about radio in bc since aug 2007 (and mention the reception of tfr) and a half a year later when I add to the info you can think it is "not notable". I am directly enhancing information that already exists on wikipedia. this style of thinking ("non notable")is nonsense, and frankly I am surprised that you and (a few) others want to kill this article from day one. what may appear "not notable" in the beginning to some may be historically valuable (significant) info to others, it is a matter of perspective and acceptance. an encyclopedia is for subject that you already know about, it is also (maybe even more so) for subjects you don't know about yet. Let's keep the article and see where we can go from here, how about ? Ben Wobbles (talk) 17:06, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

The Norton Knatchbull School

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article The Norton Knatchbull School, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Ge.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Ge.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Redfarmer (talk) 19:07, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Last of the Summer Wine

I was making the point about the absence of children because they do tend to appear in other series set in the present/near past (and could not think offhand how to incorporate a comment to this effect in the body of the article).

Hi Chris,

I'm trying to figure out why my contribution might be considered for deletion and your contact information came up -- I simply listed the history and facts of a small business conference -- no website or contact information -- nothing at all meant to promote the event itself. Is there a way I can re-word?

Thanks,

Admin

Hi. I just wondered if you've considered becoming an admin. You seem experienced enough, so I'd be happy to nominate you if you're interested. Regards. Epbr123 (talk) 11:25, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

  • I'm going to be away until next Monday, so I suggest until then you familiarise yourself with the Administrators' reading list, Guide to requests for adminship and Administrators' how-to guide, and also browse through the RfA archives to see how other handle their nominations. You're RfA shouldn't be much trouble; your strengths are that you handle conflict well, you've written a GA, and you have experience at AfD, vandal fighting and username reporting. Although, I suggest that before the RfA you turn on the "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" option on the "Editing" section of "my preferences", as not leaving edit summaries is frowned upon. Last of the Summer Wine

Media:Example.ogg

My comment was based on observation of the series - as are all the other components of the actual article.

I could list "any number of talk pages" with comments-in-passing which are far less relevant than mine - at random look at the articles Boris Skossyreff to Kenya national football team via kites and Stalin. There are even more with queries, somewhat relevant comments (where the comment in question lies) and other additions verging OR - and some of which can be used in developing the articles in question.

A more general discussion of the age and other population grouping breakdown of the inhabitants of TV series (science fiction, fantasy, contemporary and historical) might well be interesting - but belongs to Wikinfo (or a PhD thesis or several) Jackiespeel (talk) 19:14, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
