[edit] block
Hi, please do not block IP's in the range 61.x.x.x to 63.x.x.x without using Sam Spade to verify who the owner is. You recently blocked an anonomous vandal on 62.254.0.38, which is part of a server farm in Nottingham, UK, used by the UK ISP NTL. The blocked stopped every NTL user from being able to edit wikipedia, including me. This is the third time this has happened to me.
Please verify the owner of an IP with http://www.samspade.org before blocking it
Thanks Lincolnshire Poacher
Thats ok, no problem. I can verify that NTL uses the entire block 62.254.n.n without exception.
[edit] Revert
Hi RedWordSmith, if you look at the user's contributions, it's a legacy of vandalism, profanity and questionable edits. I've erred on the side of reverting all of B1link82's questionable edits because of this. Feel free to restore the edits, though. Thanks. Fuzheado | Talk 00:15, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Ugh. He's done the same to me.
21:04 England (diff; hist) . . B1link82 (Talk) (Bobo192 is a f----- c---)
- (Words as necessary blanked out). I mean, the fact I'm annoying is one thing, but I'm not happy it's now been noticed by the Wiki user at large. I'll have to hide slightly better in the future. I'm not at all happy about this.
- Thank you for your concern. Bobo192 20:10, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)
[edit] WExCUp.
I like the WExCUp idea. It may actually get stuff to the people who can do something about it instead of sitting in a long list for ages. However, my talk often becomes too long, so I'm the first to break your policy for the project. :) I've made a subpage for easier access of my desk queue. Mgm|(talk) 15:36, Apr 2, 2005 (UTC)
- Cleanup Taskforce appears pretty stable, and my "test case" of Phosphorus cycle went through pretty well. I think we're ready to go live. Is it OK if I change the notice at the top? — Knowledge Seeker দ 07:29, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you!
Thank you for your vote of confidence at WP:RFA. It means a lot to me and I look forward to helping out as an admin. Cheers, BanyanTree 03:33, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for your vote of support for me too.--nixie 02:32, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)
And another thank you from me! I shall attempt to put the shiny new buttons to good use. Mindspillage (spill yours?) 02:23, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Maybe Katie
Salve, Red!
We haven't communicated in a while and I hope this message find you well. I see you've been keeping WP:NAC up to date, something I've not done work on in quite some time. Lately I've not fared well with my FAC nominees, some failing to win even one support vote. I wonder if you would look at Katie Holmes and its nomination here and offer your comments. [edit] Creatures and you . . .
Hi there, RedWordSmith! I noticed your name on Recent Changes - was wondering if you'd heard about the Creatures Wiki? We've got over 1600 pages so far (including one on you), and managed to grab the first Featured Wikicity spot, but we could always do with more. As I recall you were quite active in the Creatures Community, especially in alt.games.creatures, so I think your contribution could be worthwhile. And heck, you might find some of it interesting reading. :-)
Help us remember the past, and continue into the future! GreenReaper 07:40, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia: Todd Brendan Fahey
RedWordSmith,
This page was "tagged" for potential "copyright violation" yesterday by "Fawcett"; however, the page of origination (the original text) IS Wikipedia's.
Many other sites Web-wide have taken Wikipedia's draft and transferred the text to their own. A stamp-of-approval, it seems, for Wikipedia.
This is to let you know that the entry for "Todd Brendan Fahey" was first posted (and then "Wikified" at Wikipedia.org. There has been no copyright infringement.
(The page seems to be under periodic vandal attack, as the "History" page reveals. But that's another story.)
PLEASE RETAIN THE CURRENT DRAFT of the Wikipedia entry for "Todd Brendan Fahey." It is accurate and has already been "approved" and "Wikified" by your Admins.
Thx.
[edit] Image:Tall grasses in the prairie.jpg
Hi RWS - your pic Image:Tall grasses in the prairie.jpg looks like Phragmites (common reed) to me, not a prairie grass - MPF 09:32, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Hi RWS - thanks; I'm pretty certain it isn't Big Bluestem, it doesn't have the same seedhead structure (compare this pic) with a few 'fingers' arising from one point - MPF 18:28, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Disgaea
I was wondering if you had a messenger program, to discuss how to make it a featured article. Oh, and on a side-note, since Princess Toadstool has been retconned, can you get it changed to Princess Peach? -- A Link to the Past July 2, 2005 08:37 (UTC)
[edit] Cooking pot
Hi RedWordSmith. Thanks for your contributions to the RC patrol. However, I think you may have hastily deleted the Cooking pot article without due VfD process. Note that the page is listed as a disambiguation link from the Pot page. For reference, see the Cauldron article. I would list the page on WP:VfU, but it's simple enough to recreate the page, which I'll go ahead and do. Mostly, I wanted to let you know why it was recreated. --Alan Au 04:18, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] faux pas
I should have done the tutorial and "my first article" before making edits. My apologies.

[edit] User 84.65.121.162
Hi, this IP address is dynamically allocated, so I don't think your message will get through to the intended recipetent any time soon. Just a heads up. 84.65.121.162 19:27, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, I left those messages on User talk:84.65.121.162 all the way back on Dec 8, 2004. In order to avoid futher confusion, I have deleted the page in question. Thanks for letting me know. - RedWordSmith 23:52, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Wikiproject
I've decided to create a WikiProject devoted to discussing what articles qualify as gamecruft, and what do not. Contact me if you are interested, or have questions. - A Link to the Past (talk) 08:51, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Allegations of sock puppetry on the Center for Science in the Public Interest page
Allegations of sock puppetry have been made against some of the accounts that have edited the Center for Science in the Public Interest page. I have instigated the wiki process for handling such allegations. See Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/David Justin. As someone who has contributed to the CSPI page, please add your views to the Comments section. You have up to 10 days to make comments on the allegation. Nunquam Dormio 19:29, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Survey Invitation
Hi there, I am a research student from the National University of Singapore and I wish to invite you to do an online survey about Wikipedia. To compensate you for your time, I am offering a reward of USD$10, either to you or as a donation to the Wikimedia Foundation. For more information, please go to the research home page. Thank you. --WikiInquirer 01:27, 4 March 2007 (UTC)talk to me
