Apologies

Sorry for not being here when your RFA went live, I hear it was unsuccessful, but it doesn't matter, never say never, as they say some of the best admins don't come about until there second request. :) Regards, Rudget. 16:39, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Fantasy Baseball

SLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW DOWN THERE MISTER! Sunday is the Super Bowl and thats WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to early. Spring Training starts in 13 days. I've never done this before and would like to learn more about this and learn when certain players at certain positions get drafted. Plus, wouldn't it be better to draft guys that did good in Spring Training? Can you change the draft date?

P.S. Nice to hear from ya! HPJoker Leave me a message 01:17, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Sounds Wonderful. --HPJoker Leave me a message 01:48, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I can't get to your league by the way. How do I get into it? Does CBSSportsline have a mock draft? HPJoker Leave me a message 01:53, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
It says "An Error Has Occurred" whenever I click on the link   jj137 (talk) 02:36, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I do have an account. --HPJoker Leave me a message 02:37, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I do too.   jj137 (talk) 12:17, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Still not working. Wherever I go relating to fantasy baseball, it tells me an error has occurred. Is it working for you?   jj137 (talk) 22:20, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Fine with me. Maybe it's just some sort of server error, and we can give it a few days. Either way, I'll go searching.   jj137 (talk) 22:27, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
HALT! Wait until Spring Training begins. Thats when all of the leagues will start beginning.
As for website there's [www.sportingnews.com], [www.yahoo.com], [espn.com], [www.fox.com]. All of which have not started drafting yet. I prefer ESPN for one main reason, THEY HAVE A MOCK DRAFT LOBBY! A Mock draft is where you practice your draft strategy. It's vital to everyone to learn when certain players go, AKA draft stock. --HPJoker Leave me a message 01:15, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Ivan Rodriguez

Doesn't look too bad from a first glance. Some of those years though might be better as a couple paragraphs, namely 1998-2002. I'd do a full review, but I can't. Wizardman 05:48, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, I would love to get adopted.Prottos007 (talk) 21:33, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Re:Bot

I'm sure I could help. I'm very familiar with Python wikipedia bot and AWB software. What exactly do you have in mind?   jj137 (talk) 20:52, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

You would have to be especially careful with userpage vandalism because sometimes users will post content in the userspace that could be considered vandalism in the mainspace (you could possibly work in something that only searches for IPs and registered users that aren't that user themself). I searched and found out that ClueBot uses PHP and VoABot II uses a mix of Java and JavaScript. Are you familiar with any of those? (there's plenty of different kinds of ways bots can be programmed, so we don't have to use any I've mentioned so far)   jj137 (talk) 23:11, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
There probably is a way to do it. The problem with Python is that after looking through all of the Python wikipediabot software, I don't see any of the programs that could easily be used to revert vandalism. I imagine we could make one, but I don't know how easy it would be.   jj137 (talk) 23:37, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm sure it would. Do you have any experience with it?   jj137 (talk) 02:28, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
That's good. Do you mean, a userpage you could "practice" with it on? (You'll have to go through trial edits at some point during the RFBA)   jj137 (talk) 01:33, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Fantasy Baseball

CBS Sportsline is up and running and the description is....

"A league for wikipedians that have organized it"

Apparently everyone EXCEPT us has joined it. I'll create another one.

ALSO! ESPN.COM OPENS UP ON THE 17th! MAYBE WE COULD TRY THAT IF SPORTSLINE DOESN'T WORK! HPJoker Leave me a message 00:29, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Before I set it up, anyone know the difference between Standard Rotisserie, 5X5 Rotisserie, Roto Plus, and Weekly Head to Head? Those are the different types of scoring options on CBS Sportsline. HPJoker Leave me a message 00:48, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Great. Thanks. Since you're the person who set this up originally, do you mind if we wait until a week or so into Spring Training. I'm sick right now and we can see how the players perform. HPJoker Leave me a message 15:42, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Fantasy Baseball

(I additionally left you a message above, if you didn't notice it) Were you able to get CBS Sportsline to work? It still tells me an error has occurred.   jj137 (talk) 01:38, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I could probably help with the PHP code. Do you know where the link to ClueBot's is? Also, were you able to get CBS Sportsline to work? I'm curious to know.   jj137 (talk) 20:45, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Sorry about that, I just forgot to finish confirming my account. Are we creating a new league?   jj137 (talk) 21:00, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Any time, I guess. I'll tell you if I'm unavailable at a certain time. Any ideas?   jj137 (talk) 21:04, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Fine with me.   jj137 (talk) 21:08, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
OK, I'm in. I left HPJoker and Milk's Favorite Cookie messages about it.   jj137 (talk) 21:19, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

PHP

Let's see, how far along in the installation are you?   jj137 (talk) 21:42, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Probably just the main Internet browser you use. Do you have to select a choice?   jj137 (talk) 21:57, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I think Apache would be the best choice. I know I had to download that as well.   jj137 (talk) 02:28, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

ESPN Fantasy Baseball

If we can't get 6 more people by Saturday, I'll start and ESPN league. I've screwed with ESPN before. I know how to create a league there. They open up on 11th. Their draft is run on Java and runs a lot better than CBS's. HPJoker Leave me a message 20:30, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Fantasy baseball

It looks like the league is full now. Do you know what would happen if someone missed the draft tomorrow?   jj137 (talk) 21:19, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

I doubt the entire league would be disbanded because of that one person. My best guess would be they go into autopick by their player ordering.   jj137 (talk) 23:13, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Fantasy Baseball 3?

JJ and I have agreed that we'll also have a private ESPN league that I will create. Just the four of us. Two leagues ain't hard to handle. I've done ESPN before. I can do it. HPJoker Leave me a message 02:13, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Draft Today!

The draft is today! Everyone going to be there? HPJoker Leave me a message 16:40, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

You too.   jj137 (talk) 17:36, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Wow, that's really good. Not that I know there isn't; if there is, the reviewer will probably tell you when you nominate it.   jj137 (talk) 21:47, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

As above awesome job stormtracker. Looks like a easy FL.
