Also, I'm thinking this page could use a little history. Does anyone know who started it, and/or when it was started? It seems to be a recent phenomenon, since it's not mentioned in a very recent and fairly comprehensive photography book that I own. Also, it'd be great if someone could shed some more light on the science of it. I'm pretty confident about what I did write, but I had to severely limit my statement to be so confident.
