The Mughal royal residence near New Delhi was built as an octagon and surrounded by deep moat. The water flowed into the moat from the the Yamuna river.
it has two important chambers: 1>Diwan-i-khas;and 2>Diwan-i-aam. Diwan-i-khas has the very correct writings : "agar firdaus bar rooe zaminast- haminasto haminasto haminast" meaning if there is paradise on earth,it is here,it is here, it is here 203.192.225.136 09:52, 10 September 2006 (UTC)abhinav
