Redwood Middle School (Thousand Oaks, California)

Redwood Middle School is a comprehensive grades 6-8 school located in Thousand Oaks, California, at the south end of Ventura County. It is part of the Conejo Valley Unified School District.

The enrollment of Redwood is 1,140 students, drawn from the largely middle to upper class population of the suburban community. Over the past several years, the minority population in the community has increased.

Redwood was named a No Child Left Behind - National Blue Ribbon recipient in 2006, a California Distinguished School for the 2004/05 school year, and is a past winner of the National Blue Ribbon recognition program.

It attributes its success to the active participation of parents, students, and staff who form its School Site Council and the part they play in the development and implementation of the Single School Plan. Redwood also has a strong Parent Teacher Student Association.
