Redland Middle School is located in Derwood in unincorporated Montgomery County, Maryland.
Redland is one of the two middle schools in the Magruder High School Cluster, along with Shady Grove Middle School in Montgomery County Public Schools. It serves students from Sequoyah Elementary, Cashell Elementary, and Judith A. Resnik Elementary schools. Approximately 675 students in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades attend Redland.
Redland Middle School's mascot is the Redland Raider, which was modeled after the high school's mascot, the Colonels. According to the 2004-2005 Redland Yearbook, the mascot was originally a gorilla. Also, the original Raider design was remodeled into a friendlier pirate like figure last year.
