[edit] Introduction

Redeye, the Photography Network [1] is based in Manchester, UK. It was founded in the Autumn of 1998 after a meeting at the (then) North West Arts Board which brought together a number of independent photographic practitioners who were active in the City at the time. It aims to make life easier for photographers and photography in the region and beyond, by providing information, opportunities, events, training and professional development. It is a voluntary sector not-for-profit company.

[edit] Organizational structure

Redeye is run by a voluntary board of directors and has a (loose) membership of over 3,000 subscribers. It has a paid Director (CEO), administrator, volunteer co-ordinator and project support worker.

Subscribers to Redeye do not (currently) pay a membership fee and enrolment in the organization's database gives the subscriber free access to a regular email newsletter.
