The redbanded weever, Parapercis binivirgata, is a sandperch of the family Pinguipedidae found around Australia and New Zealand at depths of between 50 and 150 m. Its length is up to 20 cm.
The redbanded weever is very similar the the yellow weaver but with a more convex caudal fin, longer pectoral fins, and a blunter snout.
Its coloration is yellow-pink on the back bearing about nine red-brown vertical bars, and a white belly. The fins are yellow with thin wavy blue-grey lines on the dorsal and caudal fins.
