Redback Networks was founded in August, 1996. Redback is an ERICSSON subsidiary since the beginning of 2007 (was previously traded on NASDAQ under the symbol RBAK).

Redback's major products include the SmartEdge (Multi Service Edge Router), the SMS (Subscribers Management System) and NetOp (Element Manager and Policy Manager).

  • SMARTEDGE – The SmartEdge Multi Service Edge Router (MSER) integrates three key functions into a single, multi-functional platform including: edge routing, ethernet aggregation and subscriber management (triple-play services).

The SmartEdge family is composed of the SE100, SE400, SE800 and SE1200.

  • SMS – Platform solution for provisioning, aggregating and managing broadband subscribers and services through a single, unified platform (BRAS).

The SMS family is composed of the SMS 1800 and the SMS 10000.

  • NETOP - Family of network and service management software for advanced per-subscriber and per-session policy management, including NetOp Element Server and NetOp Policy Manager.
