[edit] Brand Name

The company's name (Red or Dead) comes from Wayne's Red Indian ancestors. One Saturday morning in 1982, Wayne and Geraldine Hemingway opened a stall on Camden Market, London to sell items from their wardrobes. Before they knew it their one stall had expanded into sixteen stalls of second hand clothes, purchased from all over the world, and the Red or Dead brand was born.

[edit] History

The company's first major venture was to change Dr. Martens from a work-wear boot; they redesigned the boot and came up with the iconic Dr. Martens shoe we now know, which became a hit across the world. The brand continued to gain success designing cutting-edge fashion footwear, and after opening stores internationally, was bought in 1996 by Pentland Brand Plc.

[edit] Red or Dead products

From here, Red or Dead expanded their product base from shoes, to creating glasses/sunglasses frames (which are now carried by Specsavers), bags and watches. Although Red or Dead create high end fashion, they claim to never lose the fun aspect in their design.[1]
